BRILA is an online community of scientists and students who are conducting, planning or promoting bioacoustical research in Central and South American countries. The heterogeneity of environments encountered in these countries has resulted in a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna. Bioacoustical methodologies are excellent tools for increasing our knowledge of species diversity, evolution, various population parameters, and anthropogenic impacts on the environment. This webpage is intended to facilitate collaboration among researchers by providing contact information, descriptions of current research projects, and assistance in obtaining equipment, current manuscript reviews, and data processing. Furthermore, information Research regarding recent and future meetings, workshops and conferences of interest is posted. It is hoped that this website will help foster the growth of bioacoustical research in Latin America, benefiting insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, and ultimately, humankind.
Mission Statement: Uniting scientists and resources across disciplines engaged in bioacoustical research in Central and South American countries.
